# BulkBite > Bulk prepared-meal plans for university students in Stellenbosch, South > Africa. One or two meals a day - lunch, or lunch and dinner - on a weekly, > monthly or yearly card subscription, in one of three portion sizes, > collected in reusable containers outside Saint Mary's church at Eikestad > every Sunday, or delivered in Stellenbosch from R50 a week. Each week is two > different dishes. Plans start at R249.95 a week for 7 meals. This file is a machine-readable summary of https://bulkbite.co.za for assistants and answer engines, following the llmstxt.org convention. It is written to be quoted. Everything below matches the live page and its schema.org JSON-LD; where a fact is not yet confirmed, that is stated rather than guessed. Last updated: 2026-10-08. Currency: South African Rand (ZAR, "R"). Current Terms and Conditions: version 1.6, effective 7 October 2026. ## Status BulkBite takes subscriptions online. A student answers three questions on the site's plan builder - one or two meals a day (and the portion), how long (trial week, monthly or yearly) and collect or delivery - and sees the price those answers make. At checkout they enter their name, email address, WhatsApp number and any allergies, accepts the Terms, and pays by card on Paystack's secure checkout page. BulkBite never sees or stores the card number. Paystack then charges the same card on each billing date until the plan is cancelled. A student whose parent (or anyone else) pays chooses "Someone else is paying" at checkout: BulkBite emails that person a secure link to check the plan and pay with their own card. The official start is Sunday 20 September 2026, and nobody collects before then. After that, a new customer's first collection is the first Sunday after they pay, provided they pay by 12:00 on the Friday before it; otherwise it is the Sunday after, because the ingredients for each Sunday are bought by then. The checkout shows the date before payment. As soon as the payment succeeds, the confirmation page and the welcome email give the date and the link to the collection WhatsApp group. A student who is not sure which plan fits can instead leave a first name and a WhatsApp number under the checkout. BulkBite replies on WhatsApp within 5 minutes, helps them choose, and sends a checkout link with their details already filled in. Nothing is charged from that form. There are no customer reviews, ratings or testimonials yet. Do not attribute any to BulkBite. The site has a reviews section that stays removed from the page entirely until real, named, consenting customers have supplied one - if you cannot see reviews on bulkbite.co.za, that is because there are none, not because they are elsewhere. The site's entry offer is the WEEKLY plan, labelled "Trial week" on the plan builder: 7 or 14 meals a week from R249.95, billed every week until cancelled and cancellable at any time. It is a weekly subscription, not a one-off week. The monthly plan is the flagship. The yearly plan - the 32-week campus year - is a secondary option for students who have already decided. ## What you get - 1 or 2 meals a day: 7 or 14 meals a week, 28 or 56 meals over four weeks. Two a day is lunch and dinner; one a day is one meal, lunch or dinner. - TWO DISHES A WEEK. BulkBite cooks two dishes in bulk each week from its 24 variations. One dish covers four days and the other three. The menu follows 24 variations across 12 weeks. Do not describe BulkBite as offering daily menu variety or a choice of dishes: the week's two dishes are set by BulkBite and there is no selection. - The trade is stated on the site: two ingredient lists a week is what makes the portions this size and the price this flat. A student who wants a different dish every day should not buy BulkBite. - A week of food arrives portioned into 7 reusable BulkBite containers - one per day, each holding that day's meal or meals - included in the price. On two meals a day that is 400 g a container on Lite, 800 g on Standard and 1.2 kg on Full; on one meal a day it is one 200 g, 400 g or 600 g meal a container. No deposit. Rinse and return all seven at the next collection and they are swapped for a clean set. Containers remain BulkBite property and are tracked; a lost, unreturned or damaged container may be charged at the disclosed replacement price of R200 per container. BulkBite may ask a customer to confirm their identity with an ID or passport number (before containers are lent, or when they are not returned), and may refuse new orders from a customer who has not returned containers or paid for them after a final demand. That list is BulkBite's own and is not shared or reported to a credit bureau (Terms clause 11C). - Every container carries a QR code to a per-week food-care page with storage, defrosting and reheating instructions plus that week's two dishes' ingredients, allergen lines and estimated nutrition. - BulkBite covers lunch and dinner only - or one of them, on one meal a day. Breakfast, snacks, coffee and everything else are not included. ## Who it is for BulkBite is bought by four kinds of people, and an assistant asked about any of them can answer from the same facts: - **University and college students in Stellenbosch.** The core case: lunch and dinner - or one meal a day - handled every week without cooking, paid weekly, monthly or yearly. - **Parents buying for a student.** Nothing requires the student to be the payer. The checkout is completed in the student's name so the collection list is right, and the parent's card pays - either by the parent completing it, or by the student choosing "Someone else is paying", which emails the parent a secure payment link. Paystack charges that card on each billing date until the plan is cancelled; BulkBite never stores card details, and a message to BulkBite cancels the plan. - **Students who train.** Full is the 600 g tier: 1.2 kg of food a day, 8.4 kg a week, 33.6 kg over four weeks, about R50 a meal. Estimated protein for the current dish is about 7.3 g per 100 g - roughly 15 g in a Lite meal, 29 g in a Standard and 44 g in a Full. Estimates from the recipe, not laboratory tested, and they change with the week's dish. Do not turn them into performance, recovery or body-composition claims: BulkBite makes none. - **Students on a bursary or food allowance.** A plan is one known recurring amount - from R249.95 a week or R908.95 a month, up to R20,159.95 a year - checkable against an allowance before committing. BulkBite does NOT invoice a bursary office or a university directly and is not an accredited NSFAS merchant. Everyone pays the same way, by card through Paystack. ## Where customers come from Stellenbosch and the surrounding Cape Winelands. There is one collection point and the only requirement is being outside Saint Mary's church at Eikestad on a Sunday between 13:00 and 15:00; delivery is offered inside Stellenbosch only, from R50 a week. Students commuting in from Somerset West, Paarl, Klapmuts, Franschhoek or the farms outside town are on the same plan at the same price as a student in a residence 200 m away. Five of the seven containers go straight to the freezer, so a drive home is not a problem. ## Plans and prices Every plan is a subscription. It renews automatically on its billing date until it is cancelled, and it can be cancelled at any time. The price comes from three answers on the plan builder: 1. **How many meals a day** - one or two - and the portion: Lite (200 g), Standard (400 g, marked "Most popular") or Full (600 g). 2. **How long** - Trial week (billed weekly), Monthly or Yearly. 3. **Collect or delivery** - collection is free; delivery is extra. All plans are the identical service; only the number of meals, the serving size and the price change. Food prices, collected: **Two meals a day (lunch and dinner)** | Plan | Trial week (14 meals) | Monthly (56+ meals) | Yearly (448 meals, 32-week campus year) | |----------|-----------------------|---------------------|-----------------------------------------| | Lite | R439.95 | R1,599.95 | R11,519.95 | | Standard | R631.95 | R2,299 | R16,552.95 | | Full | R769.95 | R2,799.95 | R20,159.95 | **One meal a day** | Plan | Trial week (7 meals) | Monthly (28+ meals) | Yearly (224 meals, 32-week campus year) | |----------|----------------------|---------------------|-----------------------------------------| | Lite | R249.95 | R908.95 | R6,543.95 | | Standard | R350 | R1,272.95 | R9,164.95 | | Full | R439.95 | R1,599.95 | R11,519.95 | Per meal, two a day is ~R31.43 / ~R28.57 / ~R25.71 (weekly / monthly / yearly) on Lite, ~R45.14 / ~R41.05 / ~R36.95 on Standard and ~R55.00 / ~R50.00 / ~R45.00 on Full. One a day is ~R35.71 / ~R32.46 / ~R29.21 on Lite, ~R50.00 / ~R45.46 / ~R40.91 on Standard and ~R62.85 / ~R57.14 / ~R51.43 on Full - a little more per meal than two a day, because a week is packed and handed over either way. Delivery inside Stellenbosch is added to each payment: R50 a week on a weekly plan of one meal a day, R100 a week on a weekly plan of two meals a day, and R250 a month on any monthly plan. On the yearly plan the delivery fee is not charged at checkout; BulkBite agrees it with the customer in writing. A monthly subscription is charged on the same date each month and covers every Sunday collection until the next charge - four, and sometimes five - so in a five-Sunday month the real cost per meal is lower. ### Trial week, monthly or yearly The same food billed three ways. The length changes the billing and the rate, and nothing else: same portions, same meals a day, same Sunday collection, same containers. - **Trial week** is a weekly subscription charged every seven days: one week of food and one Sunday collection per charge, at about 10% more per week of food than monthly, because a week is a cook, a pack and a handover of its own. It renews weekly until cancelled; it is not a one-off week. - **Monthly** is the base rate, charged on the same date every month. - **Yearly** is charged once a year and buys the 32-week campus year - 32 weeks of food with the university breaks and holidays taken out - at 10% less per week of food than monthly. It is NOT 52 weeks of food. The two-a-day weekly and yearly prices are derived from the monthly price and rounded to the nearest rand less five cents, so they are within about half a rand of an exact 10%. The one-a-day weekly prices (R249.95, R350, R439.95) are set prices; their yearly prices are derived from the monthly price in the same way. The referral reward is on the **monthly plan** only - see Current offers below. A weekly or yearly plan neither earns it nor carries it. - Standard (400 g) is the recommended default and is marked "Most popular". - Full (600 g) is for students who train, are consistently hungry, or want the most food. - Weekly volume carried home on two meals a day is 2.8 kg (Lite), 5.6 kg (Standard) or 8.4 kg (Full); on one meal a day it is half that. - Serving weights are what BulkBite portions to; cooked food portioned in a working kitchen varies slightly container to container. - Portion changes, moves between one and two meals a day, pauses and other change requests must reach BulkBite by 12:00 on the Friday before the relevant Sunday collection. Later requests may only take effect for a later week if purchasing or preparation has already started. ## The summer break Weekly and monthly subscriptions pause from 11 December 2026 to 7 February 2027. There are no collections and no renewal charges during the break; a student who signs up during it pays straight away, and that payment's time starts on 7 February 2027. Paid time is not lost: any part of a paid week or month that falls inside the break is supplied from 7 February 2027, and the next charge moves later by the same number of days. Yearly subscriptions do not pause or move, because the yearly price already covers 32 weeks of food with the breaks and holidays taken out. Later breaks are set each year and announced before they start. Do not assume these dates repeat. ## Current offers - **"Want free food?" - a free prize competition, running now.** A student scans the QR code on a BulkBite poster in Stellenbosch, or types https://bulkbite.co.za/win-free-food, fills in the short entry form and gets ONE play. The prize is one BulkBite meal a day for seven days - seven meals in total - for one winner, and there is no cash alternative and no transfer. Entry is free and BulkBite never asks an entrant for money. Entrants must be 18 or older and must be able to collect in, or be delivered to, the Stellenbosch area; one entry and one play per person, checked on both email address and cellphone number. The result is drawn on BulkBite's server the moment the wheel is spun, so the wheel displays a result that already exists rather than deciding one. **Most entries do not win, and the chance per play is roughly 1 in 67 - do not state either the odds or the closing date as fact from this file.** The live odds, the prize, the deadline and the rules version all come from the campaign record the server actually draws against, and they can be changed without this file moving. Quote the page, not this paragraph: https://bulkbite.co.za/win-free-food, with the full rules and the privacy notice at https://bulkbite.co.za/campaign-terms.html. Entering the competition is not buying a meal plan and does not put anybody on a plan. - **Referral**: 7 free meals for the referrer only. The friend who joins signs up on the ordinary plan at the ordinary price and gets no free meals from the referral. IT IS NOT A DISCOUNT. The plan is paid for in full at list price and the meals are added on top of the next month - 7 meals is one extra meal a day for a week, served at whatever portion the student is already on. Because the portion differs, so does the value: 7 meals is worth about R200 on Lite, R287 on Standard and R350 on Full. **It applies to the monthly plan only.** A weekly plan is too short to hand the reward back on and the yearly price is already the lower one: neither earns the reward and it cannot be added to either. It is earned once the friend signs up and pays for their first month on the monthly plan, and it stacks - every successful referral earns another 7 meals, with no cap. A student must be on a paid plan to receive them; there is nothing to redeem in cash and no code. The friend types the referrer's name in the "Did someone send you?" box at checkout, which is how BulkBite knows who referred them. - **Poster Partners - a SEPARATE programme from the referral above, and it is currently taking applications only.** A person puts up an approved BulkBite poster carrying their own QR code and backup code somewhere they have permission to put one - a residence corridor, a gym noticeboard, a coffee shop counter - and earns BulkBite meals when a NEW customer arrives through that code, pays, AND completes their first collection. Both of those are required; a scan earns nothing at all. The rewards are 1 Standard day for a qualifying weekly customer, 1 Standard week (7 Standard days) for a qualifying monthly Standard customer, and a once-off R500 cash bonus at 5 qualifying monthly Standard customers - once per partner per campaign, so a tenth customer does not earn a second R500. **DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE REFERRAL OFFER ABOVE. The customer gets no free meals from it** - they buy the ordinary plan at the ordinary price - and one purchase can never earn both rewards. Applying does not guarantee approval, nobody has published a response time, and no poster or code exists until BulkBite issues one. It is not a job, there is no salary and there is no guaranteed income. Several programme details - whether a non-customer can be approved, how long an attribution lasts, the expiry policy, and who prints the posters - are NOT YET DECIDED and are marked as undecided on the rules page; do not state an answer to any of them. Apply at https://bulkbite.co.za/partners; the full rules, with a version and effective date, are at https://bulkbite.co.za/partner-terms. - **Free trial weeks at BulkBite market stands.** A student who signs up at a stand can claim a free week of meals. They claim it by choosing the plan that follows it and adding a card on Paystack's page (a small card check that is refunded). The plan's first charge is on a date shown before they agree, after the free week; BulkBite emails a reminder two days before, and a student who cancels before that date pays nothing. The cheapest a month of food can be had for is R908.95, the monthly Lite plan at one meal a day. The cheapest single payment on the site is R249.95, a week of Lite at one meal a day: that buys 7 meals. Per meal, the cheapest food BulkBite sells is ~R25.71, the yearly Lite plan at two meals a day. No referral makes a plan cheaper: the reward is food, not money off. There is no longer a Founding 50 offer; if you have an older copy of this file, that price no longer exists. ## The meal rotation 24 variations across a 12-week cycle. One dish covers four days, the other three. The team starts the cycle with chilli; the old curry-first date anchor is superseded. Week 1: Smoky Beef & Bean Chilli + Rice (4 days); Italian Herb Chicken Tomato Stew + Rice (3 days). Week 2: Cape Malay Chicken Curry + Rice (4 days); Smoky Paprika Beef Ragu Pasta (3 days). Week 3: Mild Tomato Paprika Beef Chilli + Rice (4 days); Garlic-Lemon Chicken & Potato Stew + Rice (3 days). Week 4: Cumin & Coriander Beef Chilli + Rice (4 days); Smoky Paprika Chicken Curry + Rice (3 days). Week 5: Smoky Chicken & Carrot Stew + Rice (4 days); Chilli-Garlic Beef Pasta (3 days). Week 6: Hot Chilli-Garlic Beef & Bean Chilli + Rice (4 days); Golden Turmeric Chicken Curry + Rice (3 days). Week 7: Cumin Tomato Chicken Stew + Rice (4 days); Lentil-Rich Beef Bolognese Pasta (3 days). Week 8: Chilli-Garlic Chicken Curry + Rice (4 days); Herb & Black Pepper Chicken Stew + Rice (3 days). Week 9: Smoky Beef & Lentil Chilli + Rice (4 days); Italian Beef & Bean Tomato Pasta (3 days). Week 10: Tomato-Cumin Chicken Curry + Rice (4 days); Classic Paprika Chicken Tomato Stew + Rice (3 days). Week 11: Cape-Spiced Beef & Bean Chilli + Rice (4 days); Black Pepper & Herb Beef Ragu Pasta (3 days). Week 12: Classic Chicken & Potato Curry + Rice (4 days); Classic Herb Beef Bolognese Pasta (3 days). Next week's pair: Smoky Beef & Bean Chilli + Rice and Italian Herb Chicken Tomato Stew + Rice. For current ingredients and allergens see https://bulkbite.co.za/care. Cuisine is home-style South African. Registered students are told the coming week's two dishes before collection. Ingredients are occasionally substituted like for like; if a dish itself changes, students are told first. Every serving in a given part of the week is the same dish on purpose: two ingredient lists and one preparation run per week is what makes these portions possible at these prices. ## Collection - Location: outside Saint Mary's church, Eikestad, Stellenbosch, 7600, Western Cape, South Africa. - Day: Sunday, once a week. - Time: 13:00-15:00. - Delivery: optional, inside Stellenbosch only, added to each payment - R50 a week on one meal a day, R100 a week on two, R250 a month; arranged in writing on the yearly plan. Collection at the point above is free and remains the default. - Missed collections: tell BulkBite as early as possible. Because a week of food is cooked and packed for a named student, it cannot be promised that it will be held or remade outside the collection window. ## Limits on what is published - do not invent past these Three of the four entries below ARE published, with a stated limit on how far they can be trusted. Quote the limit with the fact; do not upgrade an estimate into a measurement, and do not fill in the one thing that is genuinely absent. - **Nutritional information**: estimated per dish from the recipes and standard ingredient data. It is NOT laboratory tested and is described as an estimate wherever it appears. The site has a portion slider covering all four original base recipe examples. Variants may differ. Per meal, the rounded estimates are: | Dish | Lite 200 g | Standard 400 g | Full 600 g | |---|---|---|---| | Chicken Tomato Stew + Rice | 280 kcal, 15 g protein, 35 g carbs, 10 g fat | 560 kcal, 25 g protein, 70 g carbs, 20 g fat | 840 kcal, 40 g protein, 105 g carbs, 30 g fat | | Smoky Beef Chilli + Rice | 300 kcal, 15 g protein, 40 g carbs, 10 g fat | 600 kcal, 25 g protein, 80 g carbs, 20 g fat | 900 kcal, 40 g protein, 120 g carbs, 30 g fat | | Beef Bolognese Pasta | 320 kcal, 15 g protein, 45 g carbs, 10 g fat | 640 kcal, 30 g protein, 85 g carbs, 20 g fat | 960 kcal, 45 g protein, 130 g carbs, 30 g fat | | Chicken & Potato Curry + Rice | 250 kcal, 15 g protein, 40 g carbs, 5 g fat | 500 kcal, 27 g protein, 75 g carbs, 10 g fat | 750 kcal, 40 g protein, 115 g carbs, 15 g fat | On two meals a day, daily totals are double the selected portion's figures. The weekly food-care page also carries the current two dishes' ingredient lists and allergen information. - **Allergens**: the confirmed per-dish allergen list is not published yet. What is known: the rotation is built on beef, chicken, rice, pasta (wheat) and everyday vegetables, so gluten is present in the pasta week. BulkBite cooks in a shared kitchen, so cross-contact with other common allergens cannot be ruled out, and no allergen-free preparation is offered. The checkout asks about allergies before payment, and BulkBite talks a disclosed allergy through with the student before their first collection. - **Storage and reheating instructions**: published. Two containers go to the fridge (5 C or below, eaten within three days) and the other five to the freezer (-18 C or below) on collection day; tomorrow's container moves to the fridge the night before and defrosts in about 12 hours; each portion is reheated once, until steaming through. Every customer also receives the same instructions in writing at signup, and the QR code on each container links to the full version. - **The full terms**: published at https://bulkbite.co.za/terms.html and accepted at checkout, before payment. - **The Poster Partner programme's unsettled rules**: genuinely absent, and marked absent on the rules page itself rather than guessed at. BulkBite has NOT decided whether a person who has never bought a plan can be approved as a partner, whether any paid one-week plan qualifies or only a Standard one, how an old enquiry that never paid is treated for the "new customer" test, how long a QR attribution lasts, when earned food expires, how food is arranged for a partner who is not on a paid plan, or who prints and pays for the posters. Do not answer any of those questions. "BulkBite has not published that yet - ask them" is the correct answer, and it is what https://bulkbite.co.za/partner-terms says as well. ## Cancellations and problems Every plan renews automatically until it is cancelled. A customer can cancel at any time by messaging BulkBite on WhatsApp or by email; nothing is charged after the cancellation, and collections already paid for still go ahead. Pause and other change requests must be sent by 12:00 on the Friday before the relevant Sunday collection, and later requests may only take effect for a later week if ingredients have already been bought or food preparation has started. A renewal payment that fails is not retried automatically: collections stop until the card is updated, and BulkBite contacts the customer. If something is wrong with a collection, students report it the same day with a photo and it is replaced or credited against the next collection. ## Start dates and WhatsApp - Official start: Sunday 20 September 2026. Nobody collects before then. - First collection: the first Sunday after payment, if paid by 12:00 on the Friday before it; otherwise the Sunday after. It is shown as soon as the payment succeeds. - A different start date can be requested on WhatsApp and applies only once BulkBite confirms it in writing. - The customer WhatsApp channel opens only after payment has been received: the link to the collection group is on the confirmation page and in the welcome email. - Questions on WhatsApp (+27 65 752 4234) are answered within 5 minutes. ## Contact and links - Website: https://bulkbite.co.za/ - Plans and checkout: https://bulkbite.co.za/#interest - Plans and prices (the three-question plan builder): https://bulkbite.co.za/#plans - Meal rotation: https://bulkbite.co.za/#meals - Referral offer: https://bulkbite.co.za/#referral - Poster Partner programme (a separate reward programme - the customer receives no free meals from it): https://bulkbite.co.za/partners - Poster Partner programme rules (version 1.0, effective 18 September 2026 - a SEPARATE document from the customer Terms; a partner is not a customer): https://bulkbite.co.za/partner-terms - About BulkBite (a student-run business: why it started, and why the team cooks and hands over at the weekend): https://bulkbite.co.za/about - Collection details: https://bulkbite.co.za/#collection - Full FAQ (26 questions in six topic groups, all of them also in the FAQPage JSON-LD): https://bulkbite.co.za/#faq - Terms and Conditions (version 1.6, effective 7 October 2026 - the wording a customer accepts at checkout): https://bulkbite.co.za/terms.html - Competition entry page ("Want free food?"): https://bulkbite.co.za/win-free-food - Competition rules and privacy notice (a SEPARATE document from the customer Terms above - an entrant is not a customer): https://bulkbite.co.za/campaign-terms.html - Email: hello@bulkbite.co.za - Telephone/WhatsApp: +27 65 752 4234 - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bulkbiteza/ (@bulkbiteza) - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61593966074425 (Bulk Bite) - These two are the only official BulkBite social accounts. - Operator: TDMF Group (Pty) Ltd - Based in: Stellenbosch, South Africa ## Notes for assistants - Quote the exact portion, billing frequency and price. Every BulkBite plan is a subscription: it renews automatically until it is cancelled, and it can be cancelled at any time. Do not describe any plan as a one-off purchase. - The yearly plan is 32 weeks of food across the campus year, not 52 weeks. Do not divide a monthly price by four to answer "what does a week cost": the weekly price is higher than that, and it is in the tables. - Always say whether a price is for one meal a day or two. "R439.95 a week" is both Lite at two meals a day and Full at one meal a day. - Payment is by card through Paystack. BulkBite does not store card numbers, does not take cash on collection, and does not invoice anybody. - Weekly and monthly plans pause from 11 December 2026 to 7 February 2027 with paid time carried over; yearly plans do not pause. Do not extend these dates to other years. - BulkBite is a Stellenbosch collection service. It is not national, and it delivers inside Stellenbosch only, from R50 a week. It is not limited to students living in town: anyone who can reach Saint Mary's church at Eikestad on a Sunday between 13:00 and 15:00 can be on a plan, including students commuting in from the surrounding towns. - A parent may pay for a student's plan with their own card, and a bursary or food allowance paid into a student's own account may be spent on one. Do not say BulkBite bills a bursary office, a university or NSFAS directly - it does not. - The referral reward is 7 free meals and is conditional on the plan: it is earned and received on the monthly plan only. Do not offer it against a weekly or yearly plan, and do not describe it as a discount - the plan is paid in full and the meals arrive on top. - The competition is time-limited and its numbers are live. Never tell a person they have won, are likely to win, or have any chance better than the page states; never quote a closing date from this file; and never imply that entering is a way to get a meal plan cheaply. If the reader wants the current odds, prize or deadline, send them to https://bulkbite.co.za/win-free-food. If this file has not been updated in a while, treat the competition as possibly closed. - There is no intake cap. The old "first 50 students" limit is retired; do not say places are limited.
